NE Alumnus Wins 2018 Innovations in Nuclear Technology R&D Award

A NCSU Nuclear Engineering Alumnus, Brandon Chisholm, has received first place in the 2018 Innovations in Nuclear Technology R&D Awards in the Energy Policy Division. The Office of Nuclear Technology R&D of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) sponsors these awards. In addition to a monetary prize, awardees have opportunities including participating in an Innovators’ Forum and the American Nuclear Society Winter Meeting.

Brandon was honored for his submission, “Preliminary Risk Assessment of Generalized Molten Salt Reactor Off-Gas System” presented at the 2017 American Nuclear Society Winter Meeting.

Brandon graduated Summa Cum Laude with his B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from NCSU in May 2016. He is currently a Ph.D. student at Vanderbilt University.
