MARCH 2023: TMS conference in San Diego, CA. Our group contributed to more than 10 presentations. Among all presentations, Ryan Schoell, former student of the group gave an invited talk on his PhD work at NCSU entitled “Understanding the Mechanisms Involved in Chlorine-Induced Stress Corrosion Cracking of Stainless Steel 304 under a Simulated Marine Environment“. Current student Matthew DeJong presented “Effects of Oxygen Exposure and Powder Chemistry on Oxide Dispersion Strengthened Steels Printed with Gas Atomization Reaction Synthesis (GARS) Powders”. He also presented on “Additive Manufacturing of an Oxide Dispersion Strengthened Nickel-based Alloy for Molten Salt Reactor Application Using Hastelloy N Powder” on behalf of his former colleague Fedi Fehri who graduated last fall.
