Ryan Charrette

Ryan is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering. His enrollment at NCSU began in 2018 and he became involved in Dr. Robert Haye’s Retrospective Dosimetry and Nuclear Assay Group the summer of 2021. Ryan’s current research has focused on radiation hardness of electronic parts for application in space environment. This has involved thorough examination and compilation of information contained in Total Ionizing Dose reports found in the NASA GSFC database as well as data sheets from various manufacturers.

Ryan has conducted prior research on strongly coupled plasmas under the advice of Dr. Alexander Bataller in 2020. Upon graduation, Ryan plans to work towards a Masters of Nuclear Engineering. After academia, he hopes to enter industry working in health physics or radiation safety.
