About Jonathan:

Jonathan Thomas is a Ph.D. student at NC State’s Department of Nuclear Engineering, working as a graduate research assistant. Originally from Richlands, North Carolina, Jonathan received his undergraduate degrees from NC State’s Physics, & Electrical and Computer Engineering departments respectively. After working for three years as an electrical system owner for Duke Energy’s Hydro West facilities, he decided to return to NC State, to pursue an advanced degree focusing on plasma engineering. Jonathan’s current research focuses on developing a controller and closed-loop control system for optimizing plasma delivery, through the use of feedback from biological sensors.
