Zimmer awarded best paper at NURETH-18

Congratulations to Matthew Zimmer. At the recent International Topical Meeting on Nuclear Reactor Thermal Hydraulics (NURETH-18) in Portland last week, Matt’s paper was selected as one of three for the Young Professional Award. This award is based on the technical merit of the paper and awarded to authors who qualify as young members (as defined by the ANS YMG).

Zimmer is a doctoral candidate in our department and his faculty adviser is Dr. Igor Bolotnov. He is also a Rickover Fellow. The Rickover Fellowship Program is designed to meet the needs of the Naval Reactors Division of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for appropriately trained personnel for the maintenance and development of science and engineering technology as it pertains to naval nuclear propulsion.
