Latest issue of Algorithms features NC State nuclear engineering faculty and student

Faculty and doctoral students from the departments of nuclear engineering and mathematics developed and numerically illustrated a robust sensor network design to optimally detect a radiation source in an urban environment. This research work, ”Surrogate-Based Robust Design for a Non-Smooth Radiation Source Detection Problem”, is featured in Algorithms, volume 12, issue 6 (June 2019).

The authors are Razvan Stefanescu (former mathematics postdoctoral research scholar), Dr. Jason Hite (recent nuclear engineering graduate), Jared Cook (mathematics doctoral student), Dr. Ralph C. Smith (mathematics faculty), and Dr. John Mattingly (nuclear engineering faculty).

Algorithms is a peer-reviewed open access journal that provides an advanced forum for studies related to algorithms and their applications. It is a monthly online publication of MDPI.
