Azmy Named Distinguished Professor of Nuclear Engineering

Dr. Yousry Azmy has been named NC State University Distinguished Professor of Nuclear Engineering. His research is focused on the development, implementation and analysis of advanced methods and solution techniques for particile problems.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (PhD, 1985), Dr. Azmy spent several years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory before joining Penn State University as a faculty member. Seven years ago, Azmy became Department Head of NC State’s Nuclear Engineering Department. He stepped down from department head in 2015 to pursue his research and become the editor for Progress of Nuclear Energy, a publication of the American Nuclear Society. Dr. Azmy is also the Director of theConsortium for Nonproliferation Enabling Capabilities (CNEC).
