Abstract

Nuclear energy supplies nearly 20 percent of all of our domestic electricity generation, and more than 55 percent of carbon-free generation. Nuclear power plants supply  the baseload, always-available emissions-free electricity, while providing significant benefits to regional economies. So why are we seeing these plants shut down? This presentation will focus on the economics of nuclear power. Discussion will revolve around various revenue models for current and future nuclear plants, including regulated and wholesale markets, and opportunities for nuclear to thrive.
