ACE Workshop at North Carolina State University
Management of Numerical Errors In Nuclear Systems Modeling
- Dates: September 13th - 14th (One full day - one
half [morning] day)
- Location: McKimmon Center, North Carolina State
University, Raleigh, NC
- Organizer: Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Sponsored
University Academic Center of Excellence (U-ACE) in Advanced Modeling
and Simulation (AMS), INL's Center for Advanced Modeling and Simulation
(CAMS), and INL's Nuclear Technology Division
- Purpose: To overview and discuss the potential of
the emerging methodologies, based on posterior error estimation, used
to quantify and control simulation errors that originate from numerical
methods approximations, as applied to the various stages of the nuclear
fuel cycle.
- Workshop format: A limited number of invited review
presentations will be made followed by group discussions of latest
methodologies to quantify and minimize numerical errors..
