I believe safe and successful nuclear waste
management is essential for the future of nuclear energy.
The goals of my research work are socially
acceptable nuclear waste disposal and effective use of risk
analysis for relevant decision-making. Research works
include nuclear waste source term analysis, environmental
dose assessment, developing new risk analysis
methodologies amenable to public risk communication,
novel techniques for very long-term isolation of
nuclear wastes, investigation of nuclear waste
transmutation, development of strategies for public perception
and attitude change. Mathematical/ statistical
modeling, experimental investigations, engineering
optimization, decision theoretic approaches, and artificial
neural networks are implemented in these works.
